This book is totally politically incorrect. Set in some unnamed very warm Colonial country, every one, European and native is described... Well it isn't as badly written as Valmouth or Cardinal Pirelli, and there's not so much nasty sniggering. But it's a painfully thin piece of trivia, and the -dialect-? -accent?- language?- is difficult to take in 2013. I really fail to see why Firbank's work has survived at all.
