Draws upon rich source material including interviews with authors and public addresses; perhaps is slightly lacking in that there is a deficit of analysis or reflection. Still, is what it claims to be: a fairly ungilded chronology of how campaigning... Great book about the mechanics of Australian party politics and the rise of professional party officials. It could be a little depressing if you believe they are the devil's spawn.
